Thoughts on Instructional Program
What is a “rigorous” instructional program? What is actionable feedback? Answering these two questions will be an important part of our Professional Development work this year. A friendly reminder that instructional guides were given to each vocational strand at the start of the school year and should be used as an instructional support within your daily instruction. The guide provides suggested instructional strategies that can be used to teach students of each tier level. The expectation is that all students are being vocationally challenged and developing new skills in each strand at their tier level. The strands should be rigorous and actionable feedback should be provided to the students. A classroom where rigor and high expectations are implemented will demonstrate students working from the start of the period until the end of the period engaging in activities and transitioning to higher level activities.
