An Eagle welcome to our new APE Teachers! It’s a pleasure to finally be part of the Perez CTC familia. I’ve had the pleasure of working with our special population since 1999, I started as an Assistant and earned my teaching credential from CSULA after attaining a degree in Kinesiology and Adapted Physical Education. My prior experiences include Lanterman, Banneker CTC, Willenberg CTC, Salvin, Widney CTC, and various elementary schools where I honed my pedagogy abilities and made an amazing network of LAUSD friends. I look forward to adding my teaching philosophy to Perez CTC which involves promoting an affirmative commitment to individual lifelong success in Health and Fitness by optimizing individual movement development and providing an appropriate safe, fun, and positive atmosphere where we can give our students’ the opportunities to build self-esteem, en-ergy, determination, personal goal setting, and teamwork. -Ernesto R. Medina, “Ernie”

Hello Perez CTC, my name is Rigoberto Sanchez but I go by Rigo. I am one of the new Adapted P.E. teachers and I am very pleased to be at Perez. I have been to Perez before when I was in college and I volunteered in the P.E. department. I enjoyed working at Perez so much that I knew I wanted to teach at Perez. I have been working as an APE teacher for five years now and my hope is to stay at Perez for many years. I am dedicated, outgoing, a team player and I enjoy humor. I enjoy traveling, live music, nature, fishing and sports. Feel free to come to the P.E. department and say hi!
